Brothers
This exploration centers on celebrating the inherent and beautiful similarities within the community of Black men. While acknowledging the unique experiences and individual journeys that shape each of us, I aim to counter the narratives that often focus solely on difference and division.
Through photography I strive to capture the essence of our shared humanity. By pairing images of different black men taken at different times, I hope to reveal a subtle through-line, an intrinsic sense of unity and brotherhood.
The similarities I seek to illuminate are not meant to erase the richness of individual narratives. Instead, they serve as a foundation upon which we can build understanding, empathy, and solidarity.
I believe that recognizing our shared humanity is essential in dismantling harmful stereotypes and fostering a more just and equitable world. By celebrating the similarities amongst Black men, my brothers, I hope to inspire conversation, challenge assumptions, and create a space for authentic representation.
